Adjusted Level 3 Regulations

To all our valued gym members

Firstly, compliments of the season to you and your families. We trust that you enjoyed a good Christmas and that the New Year is better than 2020.

After the announcement by the President last night and the Governments adjusted Level 3 regulations, Ringside will be putting the following measures in place.

1. The gym will open at 06:30 and close at 19:30 daily.
2. We will be making use of a booking system for members wanting to participate in the boxing fitness classes. (Details to follow shortly)
3. Classes will be limited to 40 people. Classes will be split in two groups, boxing and conditioning, of 20 people each.
4. Due to the curfew between 21:00 and 06:00, we will provide a 05:15 Zoom class to accommodate our early morning gym members.

Please note that booking for classes is compulsory. Instructions on the new booking system will follow shortly.

In order to keep everyone safe we ask that you please refrain from exercising if you exhibit any flu-like symptoms.

Please make use of the sanitiser spray that is available throughout the gym.

We look forward to training hard and keeping safe while we welcome everyone back for classes on the 4th of January.

New Timetable

New Timetable

To all our valued members,

We would just like to thank you all for the support that you have given us during this crazy 2020 year.  It is so great to see all the old and new faces training and our Ringside family growing from strength to strength. 

With most of the schools going back to a full-time timetable we have decided to amend our class schedule back to the pre-COVID plan.  This will be implemented from the 1st of November 2020. 

So in short the 08h15 class will return to 08h00. For the moms and dads doing the school run there will once again be the “non-existent”  07h30 class .  The 18h15 class will change back to 18h00 – please don’t forget that Wednesday 18h00 class is a sparring class not a regular gym class.

Thank you once again for all the support! Keep your hands up and your feet moving.

To all our valued gym members.

We will be adding an afternoon and Saturday morning online training sessions for those people that are finding the morning sessions difficult to attend due to work commitments. 

Evening class starts at 17h00.
Saturday morning class starts at 07h30

The login details for our Zoom sessions remain the same and you can find them on our website should you need.  We hope to “see” you all there!

Live Workouts

Live Morning Workouts

To all our valued Ringside Members!

During lockdown we know that keeping fit and being healthy is difficult. The Ringside Team is doing all that we can to ensure that members remain in shape and continue to reach their fitness goals through this anxious and uncertain time.  We are excited to announce that starting Friday 3rd of April we will be having daily live online training sessions via ZOOM every day from Monday to Friday.

STEP ONE

SIGN UP TO ZOOM

In order to join our online training session, you will need to sign up to ZOOM.

  1. Visit https://zoom.us/signup
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your email account and open the email from ZOOM
  4. Click the “Activate Account” link. You will be redirected to a website
  5. Enter your details and click continue
  6. On this next page at the bottom, you can click “I am not a robot” and then “SKIP THIS STEP”
  7. You are now signed up to ZOOM

Step Two

GET THE APP

Although it is possible to join a class directly from your web browser, we do recommend downloading the app on your device, you can CLICK HERE to download.  Zoom works on PC, Laptop, Tablet and Smartphone.

STEP THREE

JOIN THE CLASS

Our classes will start at 7.30am daily, to join a class:

  1. Open the ZOOM App
  2. Click the Join Button
  3. Enter the following Meeting ID: 746-474-3324
  4. Enter the following password: 136973
  5. You are now in the class

PIN THE SCREEN (*NB)

When in a class, ZOOM will automatically be setup to “active speaker” this feature means that the person that is speaking will be highlighted on screen. This is not ideal as your focus should be on Tyron as he is instructing the class. We recommend the following to disable “active speaker”

PC & LAPTOP

  • On the top of the screen find Tyron’s video
  • Click the three dots’ on-screen and select “pin screen”

TABLETS AND SMARTPHONES

  • Select “Gallery View”
  • Find Tyron’s video
  • Double-tap on the screen
  • Pin the screen

Please note

This is new to us; we are still working out all the kinks so please be patient over the first few sessions as we iron out the problems and make this as streamlined as possible.

We have been working on this modality of training since lockdown but hope that you will all bear with us as we continue to perfect it.

Our goal during the lockdown is to provide you our loyal members with as much value as possible. We are all going through this unexplored territory together.

As a team working together nothing is going to stop us from reaching our fitness and health goals.

With large groups online, there can be only one instructor. Although we want to make this a fun and interactive as possible please can we take note of the following:

  • Please don’t play loud music in the background as we all need to be able to hear Tyron and each other, loud music could impede Tyron’s ability to talk you though the exercises and hear any questions you might have.
  • We recommend a sweat towel as floor exercises will be included.
  • In some sessions a small step or chair might be required. If you do not have one, we can improvise.

Newsletter – COVID 19

National Lockdown – COVID 19


To all our valued Ringside Members.

By the time you read this email you will be experiencing your first days of the national lockdown as ordered by our president. These are indeed testing times.

There really is nothing that can be said except that we are in a situation that we all need to be truly appreciative of what we have and be grateful that at one or another time this too will pass.

The question however, is when? We have faith that our government acted swiftly enough and that they are trying their utmost to manage a very difficult situation. We truly hope and pray like all of you that come the 16th of April that the lockdown will be suspended and that we can get back to our normal lives, or at least some semblance of normal.

We have obviously had a few emails from members wanting to know what our plan is during this lockdown period in terms of membership fees etc. The reality for the Ringside team is a simple one. Ringside is not a big corporation; we rely solely on the fees paid by you to keep our business running and paying our staff members their salaries. If we want Ringside to survive, we are going to rely on you now more than ever before.

With that being said, we also understand that many people are under financial pressure right now and many people have had to take various pay cuts in their own salaries from businesses that they work for who are in the same situation as us.

We will endeavour to assist as many people as possible where we can. However, at this stage, we are not in the position to put membership fees on hold. Unfortunately, if there are members that wish to freeze or cancel their memberships, we will have to enforce our cancellation policies as explained in our contracts.

We have worked really hard in the days leading up to the lockdown to record videos of workouts that require no equipment that you can do in the comfort of your own home. We encourage you to stay safe, fit and healthy and do these workouts whenever they are posted. They are freely available on our website, Instagram, Facebook, and our YouTube channel. You can search for Ringside Boxing Ballito on our social media platforms.
